Geographic Location

El Salvador is strategically located in Central America, between North America and SouthAmerica. It is surounded by the Republics of Guatemala, Honduras, and Nicaragua. It has 296 kilometers of beautiful Pacific coastline.

El Salvador in Development

The industriousness of the Salvadoran worker is world known due to their dedication and rapid adjustment to changes. The economy is one of the most open in Latin America, for example, raw materials and capital goods do not pay duties.

Also, there are clearly defined regulations that stimulate foreign investment. Companies from the United States of America, Canada, Japan, Germany, Korea, Taiwan and Mexico have made investments with favorable results.

El Salvador on Education

The principal asset of El Salvador is its people. The Government of El Salvador considers that in order to achieve sustainable economic development it is essential to have a willing and capable population.

At present there are public and private schools, ranging from kindergarden to the 12th grade, as well as centers for technical education and universities; some of which offer post-graduate courses and master studies in different fields. El Salvador has a television channel dedicated exclusively to education and cultural broadcasting, with the intent of providing the small percentange of the population that has not attented school the advantages of the same educational quality as the learning centers.

In order to improve the quality and efficiency of the educational system, a new reform is being carried out. This reform is aimed at providing knowledge and skills that will guarantee equal opportunities and will generate conditions that promote equality at the same time understanding that these tools will aid in the increase of productivity of labor and in turn make the country more competitive.

The partnership of employer-worker has allowed El Salvador to diversify production of its goods and services for commercial exchange with other countries in the world. In addition to its traditional export products such as coffee, sugar and shrimp, at present the country is exporting:

Medicines, Soaps and Detergents, Shoes, Plastic Products, Paper and Cardboard Products, Iron and Steel Laminated Products, Cotton Fabrics, Underwear, Aluminum Products, Beers, Refrigerators, Advertising, etc.

Climate and Scenery

Because of its hemispheric location it is possible to have year-long mild climatic conditions: the rainy season lasts from May through October and summer from November through April, the annual average temperature is 25°C. (77°F).

El Salvador has a tropical climate throughout the year which allows the visitor to bask in its sunny beaches, journey volcanic trails, climb mountains, and explore tropical rainforest such as "El Imposible", and at  the end of your day enjoy the hospitality of our people. One of the more charming adventures of our country is to pass the day in our local markets with our artisans discovering the beauty and uniqueness of our culture.
